Using A Burger Restaurant As Inspiration For Your Party Menu

When it's time to plan your special event, the menu is most likely one of the most important things to consider. If you're looking for food that will please guests of all ages, you can't go wrong with burgers.

Depending on your event-planning budget, the size of your guest list, and how much time you have, you can either have burgers catered or make them yourself using your favorite restaurant as menu inspiration. Because they are so versatile in the way that they are prepared, and the toppings you can use on them, burgers work for both the fanciest soirees and casual get-togethers.

You can serve burgers at a wide range of special occasions and events, including kids' and adults' birthday parties, graduation and anniversary soirees, bridal and baby showers, wedding receptions, holiday get-togethers, and family reunions. If you opt to have a burger eatery cater the celebration during a busy time of the year, place your order a few days or even a week in advance.

Your burger menu may be influenced by the event venue. For instance, you can have a BBQ-themed lunch or dinner in a country barn, or gourmet burgers in an elegant ballroom.

Here are some additional restaurant-inspired burger ideas for your next event:

1. Grilled Burgers

If you have access to grills during your party, use them to cook your burgers to perfection. Start by choosing the type of patties you'd like to use, such as turkey or beef burgers. Include some soy-based burgers for the vegans and vegetarians in the crowd, or go with meaty portobello caps instead. If kids are in attendance, grill up some hot dogs as well.

Serve the flame-grilled burgers with restaurant-inspired side dishes, including homemade potato or macaroni salads, creamy coleslaw, or crispy French fries.

2 Gourmet Burger Bar

For a more elegant gathering, serve the burger up buffet-style with a wide variety of traditional and gourmet toppings. Begin by making a variety of different types of burgers, and keeping them hot in warming trays.

Set up trays of toppings, such as sliced tomatoes, lettuce, and red onions, and regular and sweet and sour pickles. Gourmet topping ideas include crispy bacon, fried eggs, brie or feta cheeses, sundried tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, fried onion straws, avocado, and guacamole.

You can also get creative with the bun options the way burger restaurants do—such as Brewsky's  Broiler. Serve a selection of regular, gluten-free, and pretzel buns, as well as sourdough and focaccia bread.
